Building Resilience - Parent & Son Retreat

"Building Resilience" Parent and Son Retreat will allow you to spend quality time together without distractions and stress from busy day-to-day routines.

Through our Parent & Son Retreat, you will have the time to connect and build more resilience into your relationship, as well as individually. The ability to be happy after facing a difficult situation, is having some resilience. We all face challenges which can often make communication difficult within the family unit. Spending time together in our peaceful surrounds, where there are no other distractions, and no other issues surrounding you, you will be able to understand each other and strengthen your connection. Conversations will start to flow, and you may be surprised at how your son communicates when feeling no other pressures. In a relaxing environment, where you have time to “just be” and have time amongst nature to feel free, resilience will have a chance to build up.

Active and mindfulness sessions will help build confidence and independence, guided by our experienced facilitators in a relaxed and welcoming environment. Throughout this wellness retreat, you will both experience movement, nature and relaxation, as well as indulgent meals from our onsite fine dining restaurant, The Coast. This unforgettable experience will help you to reconnect with your teen and leave you both feeling refreshed.

While on a morning run along a Torquay beach, Sean Purcell went into cardiac arrest and his heart stopped beating, leaving him face first in the water. Sean’s prognosis was bleak, clinically dead for 45 minutes – if he was to survive; his family were told he would suffer permanent brain damage. But Sean survived and is thriving, sharing his inspiring story: the collapse, a five-day coma, a journey of recovery and his quest to find and thank the locals who saved his life.

Sean is driven to make the most of his second chance at life, sharing his story “Life of Purpose” all over the country. His talk focuses on the importance of gratitude, how capable we all are when faced with direct opportunity or adversity and the need for all of us to capitalise on our unique skill set and truly live a life of purpose!
